Summary
Anaconda is seeking a talented Software Engineer, Backend III to join our rapidly-growing company on the Package Security Manager Team! Anaconda's Package Security Manager (PSM) is at the forefront of securing open-source packages, ensuring safe and reliable software environments for millions of users. Working on PSM offers an exciting opportunity to innovate in a critical area of software security, shaping the future of package management and protection of AI workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of Python, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Anaconda's Package Security Manager, driving innovations in software security that protect millions of users and shape the future of package management.
- Attend the team’s daily scrum meetings, planning, sprint reviews, etc.
- Collaborate with external teams for joint deliverables, Product Management, and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, QA, etc.) to maintain a high quality in fast-paced, agile development environments.
- Review PRs and contribute to the engineering and product discussions.
- Create and implement new processes that add to product quality, security, and performance.
- Take ownership of the team’s process inefficiencies, and implement cross-team efforts to ensure things are running smoothly.
- Increase productivity skills by improving knowledge of core infrastructure and tooling, as well as testing best practices.
- Create and present areas of interest within the organization during lunch and learn or team learning events.
- Play a significant role in mentoring junior engineers and participating in support calls to understand customer use cases.
What You Need
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Deep and proven experience with Python.
- Advanced knowledge of the Python ecosystem, including best practices.
- Experience with application monitoring (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki monitoring stacks).
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers.
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
- Superior design, debugging and problem-solving skills.
