Role: User interface (UI) and visual web designer - European Commission

Location: Brussels, Belgium - European Commission

Responsibilities:

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

• Creates and maintains visual component library and style guides
• Creates sketched concepts
• Designs and develops user interfaces for different web products and platforms
• Prepares high-fidelity mock-ups, showing styling, use of typography, images, text,
• navigation, etc.
• Follows up the user experience process from brainstorming through to research, sketches,
• prototypes and final implementation
• Develops a wide range of deliverables (annotated mock-ups, storyboards, wireframes, user
• interface elements, and interaction workflows)
• Maintains and creates page templates
• Creates/corrects CSS and transforms mock-ups into semantic HTML.

Requirements:

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Good knowledge of (web/visual) design, graphical and prototyping tools and software
• Knowledge of web technologies and standards (e.g. HTML, XML, CSS, Accessibility, SEO)
• Knowledge of web ergonomics, usability and accessibility
• Knowledge of fundamental visual and typographic design disciplines and principles
• Knowledge of CMS systems (Drupal)

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level B2 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing

• Good problem-solving skills
