Test Coordinator – Test Analyst (combined role)

Context

RSVZ is a dynamic organization where more than 150 people work within the IT department. RSVZ is a bilingual environment, with both French-speaking and Dutch-speaking stakeholders. Within IT, work is done in an agile way (scrum methodology).

The Test Coordinator is part of a scrum development team that is composed in a multidisciplinary way. Team Phoenix is one of the 10 development teams. The team consists of 12 people (scrum master, business analysts, Developers, PO, DevOps, Test Analyst, and Test Coordinator). In the team, half are Dutch-speaking and half are French-speaking. The position of Test Coordinator is open.

Assignment and role

This assignment and role is a combination of Test Coordinator (30%) and Test Analyst (70%).

As Test Coordinator, you are responsible for organizing and following up on test activities to deliver high-quality software that meets the requirements and expectations of the business. You work within an agile development team and align the test plans with testers, developers, analysts, and the business.

The Test Coordinator uses his/her understanding of the technical environment and the functional needs to define an effective test approach for various developments. The Test Coordinator establishes acceptance criteria, develops test cases, and maintains the regression test scenarios. The Test Coordinator regularly aligns with stakeholders outside the agile team regarding end-to-end test activities and acceptance tests by the business. He/she takes initiative to automate repetitive tests.

In addition, you report transparently on the progress of the test activities and the quality of the developments. The Test Coordinator provides daily guidance to 1 or 2 other testers within the team.

As Test Analyst, you are responsible for setting up and executing tests with the aim of delivering high-quality software. Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develops a good understanding of the technical environment and the functional requirements.
  • Defines the test strategy for the different developed applications based on the analyses.
  • Elaborates test scenarios and test cases for internal IT tests and end-to-end tests with users.
  • Prepares the data and executes the functional and non-functional tests.
  • Coordinates and supports the acceptance tests and guides users through this process.
  • Creates regression tests to efficiently and quickly detect software issues.
  • Has a good understanding of software test automation and automates tests themselves, or works together with other team members to set this up.
  • Documents automated test procedures (principles, tools, and working method).
  • Efficiently analyzes, documents, and reports test results to the business analysts and developers.
  • Follows up on corrections with the involved parties.

Required experience and competencies

  • Experience as test analyst (5 years)
  • Experience as test coordinator (3 years)
