Service desk employee
Presentation/project
The ANPR program is housed within the Police Information and ICT Directorate (DRI) of the Federal Police. The directorate is responsible for the preparation of policies and rules for information management and processing, the development of the police information concept, the establishment of technical norms and standards, and the implementation of information and communication systems.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) uses intelligent cameras that recognize license plates. The system then compares these scanned license plates with already available data (stolen or reported vehicles, whether or not they are allowed to drive in certain areas, etc.).
The ANPR cameras and section controls are a crucial link in road safety and also an important source of information for the police in the context of interventions and investigations.
The performance of the central management system, the connectivity and data flow, and the individual cameras and camera sites is indispensable in this regard.
Mission
As a service desk staff member with a focus on ANPR, you are responsible for the daily support of users of the ANPR asset management system. This means you are in contact with the ANPR team, local police zones, colleagues from the traffic police, etc., and are often their first point of contact.
Together with your service desk colleagues, the contact persons of the ANPR team (including the Incident Manager and Product Owner), and the suppliers, you work on proper follow-up of all questions and notifications via tickets and email.
You have basic technical insight and understand the workings of IT systems and applications. In a short time, you will immerse yourself in the ANPR subject matter and the accompanying challenges and risks of the system.
You are service- and user-oriented: tickets are logged correctly, handled qualitatively, and closed within the shortest possible time. You take on certain tasks autonomously, while communicating and collaborating within the service desk and across different teams.
