The Systems Division (DIST) develops the ICT system architecture, organizes, and manages the ICT systems.

It is involved in the technical analysis of system needs, the development and management of systems (servers, networks, databases, communication, video), as well as developing technical standards for the police organization and implementing ICT security and protection.

It also manages the datacenters, as well as the central infrastructure and the technical systems installed therein.

Project

The Federal Police is developing a strategic vision regarding artificial intelligence with a focus on its responsible use. The AI strategy clarifies how the organization intends to organize itself in this area.

The Federal Police encourages innovation, and thus the development, testing, and use of AI systems. However, due to, on the one hand, potential risks and, on the other hand, legal and regulatory requirements stemming notably from the AI Act, specific processes must be strictly followed.

The AI-Lab of the Federal Police is a controlled and secure experimental environment in which AI applications can be developed, tested, and validated before they are eventually deployed within the organization. It provides a controlled environment to explore new applications, accumulate experience, manage risks, and integrate governance, security, and compliance from the outset.

The ultimate goal is to provide the Federal Police with access to AI in a safe, legal, and ethical way to support staff in operational and support tasks.

Mission

The general context of the role aims to ensure and improve all aspects of the integration of Linux server environments into the internal and external IT systems of the Federal Police.

The position offered here aims to support our organization in maintaining a Linux containers infrastructure of the Docker type with the objective of enabling the development of AI applications based on an IT micro-services architecture.

As an Openshift Administrator, your tasks include:

• The continuous alignment of organizational objectives with system objectives.
• Coordinating a team of specialists according to available resources.
• Developing standards, guidelines, and procedures for the development and evolution of technical systems.
• Implementing Red Hat OpenShift infrastructures (version 4 and above) in the Police datacenters as a containerization solution, with its Kubernetes orchestrator, mainly for AI workloads.
• The daily management of these container infrastructures, relying on a task automation tool such as Ansible.
• Ensuring the proper functioning of the containers within these infrastructures.
• Monitoring the usage and performance of the OpenShift platforms, their containers, and their orchestrators using solutions like Prometheus/Kibana.
• Analyzing usage and performance trends; and taking actions based on these analyses.
• Planning extensions, based on usage forecasts.
• Coordinating the deployment of these extensions and updates to the OpenShift infrastructures according to vendor recommendations, including major releases.
• Analyzing and validating the architectural evolution of the container application platform.

As part of your role, you will contribute to the digital transformation of the Integrated Police by safely replacing various tools and technologies to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

In this respect, solutions based on games and servers play an important role, and a modern, reliable, high-performance, and above all secure environment is essential.
