Who are we?

Fednot is the Federation of Belgian Notaries. Our mission is to support over 1,100 notary offices and approximately 8,000 notary employees with legal expertise, management advice, IT solutions, training, and information for the general public.

As a division of Fednot, the ICT service unit develops innovative solutions that support notaries in their digital transformation journey and improve the overall user experience for notaries and their customers. We develop and deliver software that cover all notary domains (real estate, enterprise, family, etc.) and are based on state-of-the-art technologies.

The job:

As a Senior Functional Tester, you are in charge of checking that the developed software operates as expected, on both technical and functional levels. You support the other members of the software design and delivery team by bringing your expertise. You are responsible for functional and non-functional testing, end-to-end testing with external partners, from integration to qualification as well as end user support for acceptance testing. You also play a role in the continuous improvement effort of testing processes and the implementation of quality assurance.

You will report to the Software Team Leader and work in close contact with functional analysts, developers, and engineers within our operations department.

As Senior Functional Tester (automated for APIs + manual for UIs), your main responsibilities will include:

• To define the test strategy
• To review business requests and analysis documents
• To create and execute test cases, scenarios, and plans
• To follow up on defects and issues and write test reports
• To automate test cases by using different tools depending on technologies and needs
• To support the involved teams and to assist your team in the estimation of the test effort and test plan required for projects
• To improve processes and test deliverables

Technical skills… You have…

• A bachelor’s degree or above
• Minimal 5 years of relevant experience in software testing (manual and automated)
• Experience with manual testing, API testing, and building test strategies
• Strong knowledge of testing processes and methodologies (ISTQB certification is an asset)
• Experience in testing Java services, web services, REST APIs, proxy services, and open standards such as XML, XSD, WSDL
• Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Xray, and ReadyAPI. Katalon or Selenium are a plus
• Experience working in Agile environments

Soft skills… You are …

• Fluent in both Dutch/English or French/English and you at least have a good understanding of the language for which you wouldn’t be fluent
• A real team player at ease with sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues, able to create an atmosphere of openness
• Attentive to details, have strong analytical and communication skills
• Result-driven and never diminish quality for speed

Where are you going to work…

1000 Brussels & Homeworking: 40% in the office on Monday (fixed day), Wednesday or Friday + 60% homeworking

Interview process: 2 rounds

1st round of 1 hour with the Team Lead and the HR (via Teams) – Please note that only the presence of the candidate is accepted

• Friday 25/07 : between 1PM and 4.30PM
• Monday 28/07 : between 3PM and 5PM

2nd round of 1 hour for a more technical interview with the N+2 (interview onsite) – Please note that only the presence of the candidate is accepted

The first interview (Teams) with the Team Lead and HR will be planned in the week of 4th to 8th of August.
