Job Purpose

As a Senior BI Data Engineer, you are part of the Business Intelligence team and responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s data platform. You ensure reliable, high-performing, and scalable data solutions to support reporting, analysis, and data-driven decision-making.

You possess in-depth technical expertise in data engineering, data integration, and data warehousing, and work in both on-premises and cloud environments.

In addition to your own development activities, you support existing ETL and BI developers with complex technical issues. You act as a technical point of contact for specialized subjects and contribute to the quality, continuity, and maintainability of the BI platform.

Responsibilities

Data Engineering and Integration

• Designing, developing, and maintaining ETL and ELT processes.
• Integrating data from various internal and external sources.
• Developing and optimizing data warehouses and data marts.
• Designing dimensional data models according to proven methodologies such as Kimball.
• Implementing data solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Supporting the further development and modernization of the BI platform.
• Monitoring the performance, stability, and scalability of data solutions.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation.

Support of the Development Team

• Supporting ETL and BI developers with complex technical analyses and implementations.
• Advising on the most suitable technical solution within existing architecture and development standards.
• Assisting with performance issues, data integration challenges, and complex incidents.
• Co-developing and applying technical standards and best practices.
• Sharing expertise regarding SQL Server, data warehousing, cloud platforms, and dimensional modeling.
• Acting as a technical point of contact for complex data-related issues.

Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Data Warehousing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical expertise combined with a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Smooth collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to share expertise and support colleagues.

Positioning within the BI Team

The Senior BI Data Engineer is a senior technical expert profile without managerial or coordinating responsibilities.

The BI Lead is responsible for the strategic direction of the BI landscape, architectural choices, prioritization, and alignment with the business. The Senior BI Data Engineer supports the execution of this vision from their technical expertise.

The focus of this position is not on managing staff, but on designing and implementing data solutions and supporting existing ETL and BI developers with complex technical issues. In this way, the role contributes to the continuity, quality, and maintainability of the BI platform and provides important technical support for the development team.

Work Regime

2 days in the office and up to 3 days remote work per week.

Language Requirements

One of the two national languages is native. Able to read and understand the other national language.

Assignment

The assignment is initially for 7 months. Upon positive evaluation, it can be extended.
