ABOUT THE POSITION

As an Engineer Expert – Conditioning Techniques, you are responsible for the technical substantiation, quality assurance, and file preparation regarding the conditioning of radioactive waste.

You combine solid technical and chemical insight with a strong affinity for QA/QC, documentation, and regulations. You ensure that it can be demonstrated in a substantiated and traceable manner that the conditioning techniques used and the resulting end products meet the applicable quality and acceptance criteria.

You work closely with, among others, operation engineers, laboratory technicians, and other technical experts. You do not need to design the conditioning processes yourself, but you possess sufficient technical knowledge to understand and correctly assess processes, mortar compositions, analyses, and test results.

Areas of Result

• Drafting, managing, and updating recognition and technical files relating to conditioning techniques.
• Collecting, structuring, and processing technical information, analysis results, and quality data.
• Technically substantiating that applied conditioning processes and end products meet the applicable requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Monitoring the completeness, correctness, consistency, and traceability of the files.

• Following up files throughout the entire recognition or assessment process.

• Supporting quality assurance regarding conditioning processes and products.

• Interpreting QA/QC data and technical results.
• Participating in the assessment and documentation of deviations.
• Checking whether results comply with established specifications, procedures, and criteria.

• Contributing to the correct and demonstrable application of applicable quality requirements.

• Analyzing and interpreting results from laboratory tests and technical investigations.

• Collaborating with laboratory technicians and other technical specialists in the assessment of test results.
• Critically analyzing results and translating them into technically substantiated conclusions.
• Drawing connections between material properties, mortar compositions, applied conditioning techniques, and the final result.

• Incorporating relevant findings into technical notes and recognition files.

• Building and maintaining expertise in conditioning techniques.

• Acquiring a thorough understanding of the applied processes and techniques, including the composition and properties of mortars and conditioning matrices.
• Staying up to date on technical information, standards, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Understanding and critically assessing the existing technical operation without being personally responsible for process or installation design.

• Contributing to the safeguarding and transfer of knowledge within the team.

• Supporting the operation engineers from your own area of expertise.

• Acting as a substantive sparring partner on questions relating to conditioning, quality, and file preparation.
• Analyzing and structuring technical information so that it is usable within recognition and quality files.
• Collaborating with various internal disciplines to bring information together accurately and on time.

• Formulating well-founded advice based on the available data.

DESIRED PROFILE

• You hold a master's degree in a chemical, industrial, or technical-scientific field, or an equivalent level through relevant experience.
• Preferably, you have at least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a technical and/or highly regulated environment.
• You have sufficient chemical and technical insight to understand and critically assess processes, materials, analyses, and test results.
• Experience with QA/QC, quality files, validation, qualification, or recognition files is a significant asset.
• Experience in, for example, the chemical industry, nuclear sector, pharmaceutical industry, or a GMP-regulated environment can be a good fit for this position.
• Knowledge of cement chemistry, mortars, concrete technology, or conditioning techniques is a plus, but not an absolute requirement if you are willing to further develop yourself in this area.
• You can analyze, structure, and translate technical information into clear and well-substantiated files.
• You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
• You are eager to learn and willing to deepen your knowledge in a specialized technical field.
