The Federal Police has started building an organization-wide operation around Data Excellence. This initiative aims to manage data in a structured, transparent, and sustainable manner so that data can be maximally leveraged for operational support, policy-making, reporting, innovation, and artificial intelligence. Work is underway on the implementation of a data governance framework, the delineation of data domains, the introduction of roles such as Data Owner and Data Steward, the development of metadata and data management processes, and the strengthening of data and AI literacy within the organization. The realization of these ambitions requires both governance and technical expertise. The following vacancy fits within the further development of the Data Excellence and Data Governance framework.

Mission

The Data Governance Consultant supports the development, implementation, and operationalization of the data governance and data excellence framework within the Federal Police. The consultant ensures clear structures, roles, processes, and agreements, and also supports the development of data training programs.

Practical

• Status: Temporary assignment (approximately 2 months)
• Desired start date: ASAP
• Duration: until the end of 2026

• Main address: Kruidtuinlaan 50 1000 Brussels
• Working arrangement: at least 2 days/week present at the office, depending on tasks and agreements with the team; telework allowed at domicile or employer's address (Belgium)
