Agile Transformation Coach with strong IT transformation expertise
Job Description
The assignment of the Agile transformation coach consists of 6 major deliverables:
- Agile maturity assessment & organizational analysis
Responsibilities:
- Conduct maturity assessments within AWOW and relevant transformation domains within EITS.
- Analyze the current way of working, IT governance, collaboration with, among others, architecture, security, portfolio management, leadership, and agile maturity.
- Identify strengths, gaps, risks, and priority areas for improvement.
- Challenge the current Agile Way of Working based on external expertise, best practices, and proven agile principles.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Agile Maturity Assessment report for the IT department - overview of identified strengths, gaps, and risks.

Prioritized improvement points and recommendations, and an action plan with concrete proposals for the further evolution of AWOW and of the Strategic/Tactical layer of EITS.

Transformation strategy & roadmap
Responsibilities:
- Translate digital strategy into concrete IT transformation initiatives, including concrete objectives, priorities, and initiatives.
- Together with management, Agile Coaches, and relevant stakeholders, determine the desired future state.
- Support in making strategic choices and prioritization within the transformation.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and preconditions for successful implementation.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Supported and prioritized transformation roadmap for AWOW and the broader EITS transformation.
- Clear transformation objectives and milestones.
- Overview of dependencies, risks, and necessary decisions.

Concrete priorities for short, medium, and long term.

Operating model & Agile governance
Responsibilities:
- Support in designing a future-oriented operating model for EITS.
- Advise on roles, responsibilities, decision-making structures, and collaboration models.
- Translate agile principles into workable IT governance within the context of EITS and IT.
- Safeguard the coherence between teams, management, portfolio, governance, and strategic objectives.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Clear and supported target operating model for the future operation of EITS.
- Concrete Agile governance framework.
- Clear roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.

Recommendations for the implementation and sustainable embedding of the operating model.

KPIs, metrics & success criteria
Responsibilities:
- Define IT-specific KPIs, metrics, and maturity indicators for AWOW and the broader transformation, e.g., delivery, flow, quality metrics.
- Determine how progress, maturity, impact, and value can be tracked in a transparent way.
- Support IT management and Agile Coaches in interpreting and using metrics for continuous improvement.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Concrete OKR/KPI and metrics framework.
- Clear success criteria and maturity indicators.
- Proposal for structural monitoring and reporting.

Measurable indicators demonstrating the progress and impact of the transformation.

Coaching & mentoring of the Agile Coaching Team
Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor the Agile Coaching Team.
- Strengthen competencies around organizational change, stakeholder management, management coaching, change management, systems thinking, and agile transformation.
- Support Agile Coaches with complex coaching and transformation challenges.
- Challenge the team and introduce new methodologies, insights, and best practices.
- Further develop the autonomy of the Agile Coaching Team.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Strengthened Agile Coaching Team with increased maturity and autonomy.
- Concrete development of coaching and transformation competencies within the team, starting from the team's skill matrix.
- Practical coaching and intervention techniques for complex situations.

Structural knowledge transfer, so that expertise remains sustainably within the coaching team.

Management coaching & Agile leadership
Responsibilities:
- Guide and challenge IT management and leaders on agile leadership.
- Support the evolution from traditional management and governance patterns to leadership that supports autonomy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Support management with complex choices and tensions within the transformation.
Expected results / deliverables:
- Conduct workshops with management on Agile leadership with the aim of increasing insight into their role within the (digital) transformation.
- Clear leadership principles and desired behaviors to support AWOW.
- Improved alignment between IT management, Agile Coaching Team, and IT teams.
Technical and generic competencies
Technical competencies
You possess demonstrable expertise in Agile & Lean and have extensive experience guiding Agile transformations within complex organizations. You are able to coach and guide Agile Coaches, teams, and management in organizational change, agile governance, increasing maturity, and the sustainable anchoring of new ways of working.
More specifically, you have experience in the following domains:
